Pastor Ritz was born and spent the first seventeen years of his life in Newark, New Jersey. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Newark, New Jersey. He then attended Huron College in Huron, South Dakota beginning in the Fall of 1970 and graduating in the Spring of 1975 with a B,A. degree with honors in American History and received a Secondary Teachers Certificate. Pastor Ritz graduated from Drew Theological Seminary with honors in 1980.

Pastor Ritz began his ministerial career serving the Weatherly and Beaver Meadow's congregation in the Francis Asbury District and has served with distinction in Reading, PA; Chester, PA; and Easton, PA.

Pastor Ritz is married to Mary Elizabeth Rogers, who he met while attending Huron College. Mary has a BSN degree from Widener University, Chester, PA and works as a charge nurse supervisor for a local nursing home. They are the proud parents of two children, Jennifer Lyn Carr (27) and John Wesley Ritz (23). They also are fond of their son-in-law, Edward Russell Carr. On September 1, 2000 Eric and Mary became grandparents for the first time. Jennifer gave birth to Erica Mariab. Eddie is quite the proud father. Erica’s baptism, performed by Grand-pa of course, took place on September 17th, 2000.

Douglas Wimer joined the staff of EUMC in January 2000.  He  previously served on the staff at Great Valley Presbyterian for 13 years.  A graduate of Philadelphia College of Bible in 1986, Doug also received his masters from Westminster Choir College with an emphasis on organ performance in 1988.  In addition to his part time responsibilities at the church, Doug is self employed as a stone mason - Miles Stonework. Doug is married to Joy, they have one daughter - Kellie Stevenson

W. Ray Voran was our Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries (DOYAYAM) since August 2001. Ray previously worked for ten years with the State Department of Welfare during which time he was very active in this church family as a volunteer youth worker, Sunday School teacher and Vacation Bible School worker. Ray is a graduate of Lebanon Valley College (1986).  He graduated from Evangelical Theological Seminary in May, 2009 with an MDiv.  As a licensed local pastor in the United Methodist Church, Ray currently serves as the church's Associate Pastor.   Ray married Val in 1986 and together they have two children - Ben and Sara.

Nancy Swanson
A Nebraska farm girl, studied to be an RN and has her degree in Bible studies.  She married Stephen, a "missionary kid", in 1982.  They served in Bangladesh over twenty years in the fields of medical technology (setting up hospital labs) and theological education.  Nancy served as Registrar/Faculty member at the College of Christian Theology Bangladesh for 9 years.  The Swansons are now settling in the USA. Most recently Nancy worked as an office assistant with Heartstream Resources, a ministry of member care to missionaries.  They live in Terre Hill.

Lois Fulmer joined staff as a part time secretary in May 2000.  A long time volunteer in this congregation, Lois heads up our extensive mission program, and children's ministries.  Lois also sings in the choir and leads a Bible Study.  As if that weren't enough, she and her husband Jay busy themselves with supporting children's and grandchildren's activities.

Julie Cooper is our Precious Ones Preschool Director beginning August 2006.  Julie has previously been the assistant teacher.  Prior to being a stay-at-home Mom, she supervised a Recreation Center for children in the city of Reading.  Julie and her husband, Brett, have two children who attend Brecknock Elementary School.  Julie is a graduate of Lock Haven University with a Bachelor of Science Degree.  She loves animals and being active with her family.  Julie is a Brownie leader for her daughter's troop and volunteers in her kids' classrooms.
